Battlefield Bangkok

Been so busy this year so far that we overlooked our blog! After the dissapointment of seeing our Christmas stock get snatched by customs we were able to celebrate Christmas 6 weeks late when it was finally released (along with a large tax fine…don’t ask) at the start of Feb.  So the shelves are no longer bare and we have 100+ new games in store, well we did, but folks keep buying them!

This month we’ve had the War Machine Mark II rules arrive at last. They look great and we’re looking forwards to kicking off our first MK II event.

Coming up this month we also have the Vampire LARP, VTES, the start of the Mini Campaigns for RPGs and a bunch of other stuff…and don’t forget Valentines is just around the corner,  share your love over a board game at BFB !!

It’s finally out and on the way, the long awaited expansion to Pandemic  is in the post and should be here in about 2 weeks. Also on the way are the new Warmachine Retribution miniatures that are due for release this week.  On that note check out this page on Privateer Press to get hold of what is said to be the final release of the MK II rules and Card data, it’s missing the graphics but the rules are all there and ready to use.

After kicking off competitive Warhammer and Hordes with the Steamroller event it’s time to kick off a ladder or two. These will be in the form of 500 and 750 ladders. Each Ladder runs three months and starts when we have 8 confirmed , registered and paid up players. Registration is THB 300 per ladder.

Ladder Cost : THB 300
Ladder Scoring (end of each month) : Top player 150 Points :: Second/ Third – 75 Points :: Fouth/Fifth – 50 Points
Ladder Scoring (After 3 Months) : Top player 250Points :: Second 125 Points :: Fouth/Fifth – 75 Points

Ladder Prize Points convert into Baht for Warmachine / Hordes purchases on a 1 for 1 basis.

หลังจากงาน Steamroller ได้ผ่านไปได้รับการตอบรับอย่างมากมาย แต่ก็มีส่วนมากที่ไม่ได้ลงแข่งเพราะติดอะไรหลายๆอย่าง
ทางเราก็เลยจัดการแข่งขัน Warmachine & Hords แบบ Ladder เป็นระยะเวลา 3 เดือน

การ แข่งขันแบบ Ladder เป็น League แบบ Free Style เป้าหมายคือทำคะแนนให้ได้อยู่เป็นอันดับสูงสุดของลำดับทั้งหมด การแข่งขันแบบ Ladder จะดำเนินเป็นระยะเวลาช่วงหนึ่ง(ทางเราจะจัดแบบ 3 เดือน) ในช่วงเวลาสุดท้ายของการแข่งขันจะมีการแข่งรอบสุดท้ายจากผู้เล่น 2 อันดับแรกเพื่อหาผู้ชนะ ในการแข่งขันแบบ Ladder จำนวนครั้งในการเล่น หรือจำนวนครั้งในผลแพ้ชนะจะไม่ใช่ประเด็นหลัก สิ่งที่สำคัญที่สดคือตำแน่งของผู้เล่น

กฏการแข่งขัน

1. ผู้เล่นสามารถท้าแข่งกับผู้เล่นได้ก็ได้ที่มีลำดับมากกว่าตัวเองไม่เกิน 2 ลำดับ
2. ถ้าผู้เล่นสามารถเอาชนะคนที่อยู่อันดับสูงกว่าได้ ผู้เล่นคนนั้นจะได้เลื่อนลำดับขึ้นไปอยู่เหนือคนที่เอาชนะได้
3. ผู้เล่นที่อยู่ในลำดับ Top 4 จะต้องมีการแข่งอย่างน้อยหนึ่งครั้งต่อหนึ่งอาทิตย์เพื่อที่จะรักษาลำดับไว้ ไม่อย่างนั้นจะตกอันดับไป 2 ขั้นโดยอัตโนมัติ
4. ผู้เล่นไม่สามารถปฏิเสทการท่าแข่งจากผู้เล่นอื่นได้ ยกเว้นเสียแต่ว่าผู้เล่นคนนั้นได้เล่นไปแล้วอย่างน้อง 1 ครั้งในอาทิตย์นั้น
5. ผู้เล่นสามารถมีการแข่งขันกี่ครั้งก็ได้ใน 1 อาทิตย์
6. Ladder จะดำเนินต่อเนื่องเป็นระยะเวลา 8 ถึง 12 อาทิตย์
7. ในวันสุดท้ายของอาทิตย์สุดท้ายของ League จะมีการแข่งขันหาผู้ชนะเลิศโดย การแข่งขันรอบสุดท้ายของ 2 อันดับแรก
8. อาจจะมีกฏเพิ่มเติมเพิ่มภายหลังจากที่การแข่งขันได้เริ่มแล้ว

การแข่งขันในแต่ละครั้งของ Ladder

1. การแข่งขันทุกครั้งจะใช้ scenarios victory conditions แบบสุ่ม (รวมถึงการฆ่า Warcaster) ซึ่งจะมี
* Steamroller Mosh Pit
* Steamroller No Mans Land
2. ใน 1 Turn จะมีเวลากำหนด 15 นาที ไม่มีการต่อเวลา

ในครั้งนี้จะมีทั้งการแข่งขันแบบ 500 แต้ม และ 750 แต้ม (แยกกัน) โดยผู้เล่น 1 คนสามารถลงแข่งได้ทั้ง 2 แบบถ้าต้องการ
โดยค่าสมัครแต่ละ League ราคา 300 บาท ใครที่สนใจสามารถติดต่อสอบถามรายละเอียดเพิ่มเติมที่ร้านได้

Slice and Dice had its’ grand opening this weekend.  The tables were buzzing with people playing Warhammer Fantasy, 40k and Warmachine, as well as plenty of spectators enjoying the great set up that Win has put together. The club features five tables, each 6 foot by 4 foot with base terrain in place.  Plus there’s a mass of extra terrain that can be added to turn the boards from snow fields to snowly forest, or empty ruins to busy city landscape. Very cool! Slice and Dice also features a lounge area where you can sit around talking shop, or watch a bit of TV on the 42″ Plasma TV.  Snacks, drinks and refreshments also on hand.  There’s also room to store armies on site,  so no need to carry them around everywhere. Great set up, and a great location. Situated in Piyarom Place just above McDonalds and 100 Metres from Battlefield Bangkok. All hail Piyarom the gaming center of Thailand!

We’re looking at running a 500 Point Steamroller event on August 12th (all day) , if you’re interested in joining in, or have a better suggestion for the date, then please drop us a note. We’re looking for 8 to 12 players. Priority to Warmachine but we’ll most likely open it to Hordes too if we’re asked and don’t have enough Warmachine faction players.

Our restock for Warmachine is finally in, though the Menoth gear didn’t last very long and already sold out. More should be in this week along with a lot more for all the other factions. We also have Warcog action and spell markers coming soon to help with marking effects, power and spells!

We should also have a blister hanger coming soon, we just need to find where to buy one!!!!

Okay our first store leagues are in the launch process, we’re aiming for 6 or more people per league to get things rolling.  The leagues will be
