Railways of England and Wales

Railways of England and Wales is a modern-day classic train game, part of the Railways of the World series (see below) with many expansions to come. This latest Martin Wallace game features two sets of rules: the first introduces a new card, the Railway Inspector, sure to raise stakes and heart rates plus 10 Rail Baron cards. The second set introduces a new “share system” that adds an exciting new economic engine to this series! This beautiful expansion map sells fast. Playable in about 2 hours by 2-5 players, age 10 and up.

Desperados

Desperados is the second in our new Tin Box Series and is just as fun and fabulous as its predecessor, Musketeers (see above). Times were hard for miners during the Gold Rush. Rival miners fought over the rights to the few productive gold, silver and copper mine sites. Then came the desperados. Those gold thieves and mine robbers showed up in all shapes and sizes. It was best to have the help of a reliable partner to fight ‘em off. In Desperados, two players form just such a partnership in order to prospect and develop gold, silver and copper mines. So grab a partner and work those mines together, stay ahead of your rival prospectors, and watch out for those pesky desperados! This is one of Reiner Knizia’s first published games, previously known as Digging, and is playable in 30 minutes by 2-4 players, age 8 and up. Due October!

Railways of the World

Railways of the World is the base game for our Railways Series. It contains all of the bits needed to support the expansions Railways of England and Wales (above) and Railways of Europe (mid-2010), including a 30″ X 36″ mounted map of the Eastern U.S. plus a mounted map of Mexico, 150 molded trains in 6 all new colors and more and more and more and more…….. Playable in about 2 hours by 2-5 players, age 10 and up. Due October!

Musketeers

Have we told you about Musketeers and its cool tin box? But, Musketeers is much more than a pretty face. You are in the Queen’s service trying to acquire three valuable gems. But the Cardinal and his dreaded Guards are out to sabotage the Musketeers’ mission. The most successful Musketeers will be awarded victory points while those who fail will be sent to prison empty-handed. Easy-to-learn rules and short playing time make for great entertainment in this fast-paced cooperative, yet also very competitive, card game. “Offbeat, fast and interesting with some nice twists, including a cooperative element set against individual scoring. All for one and one for all!” – Terry Egan, boardgamegeek.com. Designed by Franz-Joseph Lamminger for 2-4 players, age 8 and up, 20-40 mins.

Dos de Mayo

Dos de Mayo is a fascinating game based on the terrible events of May 2, 1808 in Madrid. On that date, fed up with the abuse of French soldiers and sick of the indolence of Spanish authorities, the people of Madrid rose up in arms against the best army of the day in a desperate attempt to regain their pride through rebellion against the Napoleonic invader. “Dripping with historical theme and gaming tension. Bravo!” – Ender Wiggins, boardgamegeek.com. 2 players, age 12 and up, 20-30 mins. Due October!

Cavum

In Cavum, you attempt to establish tunnel networks that connect several veins of precious stones. But beware the other prospectors who may undercut your sales or make life hard under the mountain by destroying your network! “Cavum captivated us like a good movie…when the closing credits appear, you feel like: ‘What? Is if over already?’”-Gamepack. Designed by Wolfgang Kramer & Michael Kiesling; 2 hours, 2-4 players, age 12 and up. Due October!

Bacchus

In Bacchus, you are one of Bacchus’ satyrs. Your task is to gather together as many like-dressed nymphs at the bacchanalias as possible, driving up the point value of these stylish nymphs and scoring as much as possible in the process. A colorful, light-hearted theme designed by Alex Zucchini, playable in 20-30 mins, 3-5 players age 10 and up. Due in October!

Age of Steam

Age of Steam is back, featuring a painted map, artwork from Paul E. Niemeyer, 120 detailed plastic locomotives, a 16-page full-color rulebook, and load and loads of track tiles. The whistles blow and the trains rumble past, heralding the return of the Age of Steam. Age of Steam is listed number 12 on the BoardGameGeek website of the best games available in the world! Designed by Martin Wallace, Age of Steam is playable in 2-3 hours by 3-6 players, age 10 and up. Due October!

Through the Ages

Through the Ages is an exciting game of strategy and resource management where players guide their civilizations up from antiquity, through the Middle Ages, and into modern times. Will your civilization be warlike? Technologically advanced? Religious? Artistic? You choose. Your civilization’s culture is yours to shape differently every time you play the game. This is a perennial favorite that sells fast. Designed by Vladimir Chvatil and illustrated by Paul E. Niemeyer, it is playable in 2-3 hours or more, by 2-4 players age 12 and older. A must for every serious gamer! Retailer price: Due October!

Your strategy must be merciless. Your resolve, indestructible. In Grind, only victory can quench the burning fury within these unstoppable machines.
