Wednesday Night Battles
Just two battles this past Wednesday, both going all the way to victory points. First on the field of battle were the Trolls (under Angus and Kobby) and Legion (Under Vayl and Chris) in a 750 Rage, Rivets and Solos event. The battle was a tit for tats skirmish through to the last 2 turns when the heat got turned up. Everblight looked to have it sewn up on their Turn 6 but the Trolls took out a Carnie and went 2 Points ahead. Needed 3 VPs for a win Vayl sent a warbeast after the nearest FellCaller, ripped him up in one bite, then HoarFrost to take out the Feralgeist and it was all square. The only enemy model in range now was the last FellCaller, engaged by a Druid. The Druid had attacked and missed earlier, it was all up to Vayl, she moved closer, cast Malice, boosted…missed, rolled to hit the Druid.. hit…and oops killed him. Victory to Trolls 10 VP to 9 VP.
.
The second battle saw a 500 point Caine (Kris) and Cygnar take on Kruegar (Kobby) and the Circle, Thing started well for Cygnar, mashing the Cicle Cavalry from long range, but then Kruegar popped his feat and it was a bloody bath of fried flesh as long gunners and arcane mages spent the next 2 turns getting zapped as they tried to keep up the fire on the advancing Circle. Caine’s feat could have done better but even he was struggling to hit the Defense 18 and 19 Druids. As the battle progressed it became a mop up operation for the Druids, a potential caster kill from a charging Cygnar Knight came to nothing when he missed and while Caine continued to take pot shots at Kruegar he never did enough to really threaten him. Last turn Caine went all out left himself open for the kill, but then Kruegar blew his attack and it was all over. VPs were not counted as Caine and Doc were the only Cygnarmodels left on the table, compared to rather a lot of Druids.
